March 8th, 2010 WOW, Another great meeting! Tonight we had a few people missing, but the meeting was very educative. We had the pleasure to welcome California City Manager Tom Weil who made a great presentation about what the City is actually doing and what they are planning for the future. Tom described different projects in the making that are bound to improve our city in a very positive way. Some of those projects will be very attractive to our youth since some of those plans include upgrading our Parks and make room for more activities. Tom Weil is a long time resident and can see the need for a safe and diverse environment for our kids. The Mom's MakeOver Contest is now officially started... Ed Waldheim bought the first ticket. The tickets are on sale at the sponsors business locations and will be available online shortly. The drawing of the winners will be at the Special Pot Luck Dinner Meeting on May 3rd. The Club is also sponsoring 4 students from the Hacienda JOOI Club, to attend Camp KEEP, an educative environmental one week camp in Cambria, CA I will post other good news here soon... Stay tuned!
February 8th, 2010 This was by far the most fun and interesting meeting I had with you. We also had a guess: Georgia Adams, who said she will become a member at our next meeting. Welcome Georgia! The meeting continued with very positive suggestions for future activities: i.e.: Free for All Potluck Dinner with the two Jooi Clubs as our guests. I had the pleasure to introduce our draft for the "Mom's Make Over" contest poster...
The meeting went on with reports from different commities and then we surprised Linda Waldheim with a cake for her Birthday. A little token to show our appreciation for all the wonderful work she accomplishes with the Jooiful Jets at Hacienda.
I ended the meeting by reciting the Optimist Credo with the group I call "Johnny's Angels"

treasurer position. We have to thank Lynn for doing a great job and leaving the books perfectly updated for Kathy Sellar to take over the treasurer position. Ann volunteered to replace Kathy as the new secretary.
